4th of July Patriotic Sensory Bin

This sensory bin is a good activity to keep kids entertained while learning about the importance of the Fourth of July. Promote patriotism to your children with this fun activity.

Materials

  • Sensory bin or tray
  • Sand (red, white, and blue)
  • Small cup (red and blue with stars)
  • Sparkly pipe cleaners (red, silver, blue - cut in half)
  • Sparkly pom poms (red, white, blue)
  • Glitter stars (red, white, blue)
  • Straws (for stirring, drawing in sand - red, white, and blue)
  • Star Cookie cutters - different sizes
  • Scoop and/or spoon

Tools

  • Sensory bin or tray

Instructions

  1. Pour the sand into the bin.
  2. Add the stars and cups. 
  3. Add the pom-poms and cookie-cutter stars. 
  4. Place the straws and pipe cleaners in the bin.
  5. Add the spoon and scoop. 
  6. It’s playtime! 

(Observations: My child enjoyed scooping the sand into the cups. He liked placing the straws into the sand-filled cups and adding the pipe cleaners into the straw. He buried the pom pom in the sand and liked placing the glittery stars into the filled cup.)
