Valentine’s Day Candy Heart Math Activity

Supplies:

- 1 Package of Conversation hearts
- Paper plates
- Permanent marker
- Bowl
Directions:

Place conversation hearts in a bowl.

Use a paper plate for conversation heart activities.
Use the permanent marker for adding the addition/subtraction/equal sign or labeling the plate depending on the activity you are doing.
Activities:

Addition: Add up candy hearts to find the sum.

Subtraction: Subtract candy hearts to find the difference.

Counting by 5s: Line up candy hearts in rows of 5.
Patterns: Create different patterns with candy hearts.

Sorting: Sort candy hearts by color.

Making Shapes: Create shapes with candy hearts.
*Allow kids to eat conversation hearts at the end of the activity!
