How to Make a 2 Ingredient Play Dough
2 Ingredient Play Dough
Make your own play-dough at home with these two simple ingredients, here’s how.
Materials
- 2 cups cornstarch
- 1 cup hair conditioner
- Food coloring (optional: we used green and blue for this recipe)
Instructions
Add 2 cups of cornstarch to a mixing bowl.
Add 1 cup of hair conditioner.
Mix together well with your hands until a soft dough forms.
Form dough into a ball for each color you’d like to make. We divided this recipe into two parts, one blue batch and one green batch.
Flatten the dough slightly in the middle.
Add 5-10 drops of food coloring (for a lighter pastel color, we used 5 drops of each color in this recipe. Use more coloring for a darker color. Repeat this step for each batch.)
Carefully fold the color into the dough ball and mix around until the dough is evenly colored. (Note: Your hands may turn colors from the dye, but you can also wear plastic gloves to avoid this, just dust gloves with cornstarch so the dough doesn’t stick. I’ve learned that using castile soap helps clean the dye off the hands well!)
Once the dough is colored, it’s play time!
Use cookie cutters if desired for more fun. Add beads, gems, glitter, etc. if you’d like to get creative.
